The name Wheat & Waves has deep meaning in itself. It represents Michelle's journey from her home province of New-Brunswick, to the prairie province of Manitoba, where she currently resides.
Michelle began creating earrings with polymer clay in 2019 and it quickly became a form of therapy. Michelle has been living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) since 2015, as a result from her previous career as a police officer. She began donating to the Canadian Mental Health Association as started selling her pieces, mostly to friends and family. Today, Wheat & Waves has donated nearly $10,000 to the Canadian and American Mental Health Associations, has a team of three employees, and has expanded to accessories, apparel, candles, and more!
Ten percent of each sale continues to get donated to local, national, and international mental health organizations. We hope that our donations will help to increase the number of available resources, making mental health care a priority and accessible for all.
